The Bioinformatics Resource (BR) provides a wide spectrum of bioinformatic services for members of the Program in Molecular and Genetic at the Stanford University School of Medicine.
The BR offers the following services, among others.

- High Speed Protein and DNA Database Searching
- Electronic Mail
- Internet Access via Gopher, Wais, Mosaic
- Mac-Archives (Lots of Macintosh Software)
- Bionet and Usenet bulletin boards
- A Molecular Modeling Lab and UNIX Class Room
- Access to high speed Graphic Computers
- Ten SUN Micro Systems Classic X-Terminals
- A High Speed SUN SPARCserver 1000
- A SUN MP/670 server
- An SGI CHALLENGE Server
- Two SGI INDIGO X2 Graphic Workstations
- Weekly Classes
- Genetic Computer Programs both UNIX and Macintosh
- General Computer Applications e.g. E-Mail, UNIX
