Welcome to the Goodman Lab Web page!

We are interested in the neural and molecular mechanisms of mechanosensation and thermosensation.
How are mechanical and thermal stimuli transduced into electrical signals?
Having identified a sensory mechanotransduction channel, we want to know how it works--that is, how does mechanical energy open the channel?
How do single, identified neurons process thermal and mechanical information to drive relevant behavioral responses?
We are addressing these questions in the nematode C. elegans.

It's an exciting time in the Goodman Lab. Want to find out about it? Come on in...

New! - Worm Tracker:
We've developed custom code in Matlab to track multiple worms in parallel and to analyze
the worms' tracks. Download the tracker
