"What about bacterial RNA experiments"
Hi!

I'm very new in this field and I would like to introduce this kind of experiments in my work. I haven't found much papers about arrays in bacteria, and most of them use total RNA and one amplification step (RT-PCR), has anyone experience in bacterial RNA labelling? Could it be posible enrich the mRNA fraction somehow?, is It necesary to make PCR, or with RT is enough?

Dear Francisco,
I just read the message you posted. I am doing something on bacteria diagnosis using DNA Chip, and meet some similar problems.I don't know if you want to test one kind of bacterium or test many kind of bacteria at one time, and don't know if you want to test a isolated bacterium(purified culture) or test the bacteria in samples(such as in blood,etc.). It is differently in preparing the RNA. If I hnow these above, maybe I can do something for you.

I am a Prof. of the Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine, but just now, I am visitting Wash U in St.Louis, you can reply to the e-mail address below:Helico99@yahoo.com.
