Industry and Academia Aligned
SPECTRUM is a program at the Stanford School of Medicine that unites over 20 clinical and basic science departments. Its purpose is to bring into full view Stanford's rich diversity or research and knowledge to biomedical and pharmaceutical companies, venture capitalists and consultants. It brings a high value to the relationship; each department presents a combination of:
By choosing from multiple areas of discipline, Spectrum members can tailor their view of science at Stanford: from ground breaking bench science to applications in new biomedical technology.
Spectrum acknowledges that technology transfer means many things: access to new knowledge; interaction with principle researchers, research fellows and students; access to central information in areas of research strength and emphasis; and coordination of outreach programs within the University, including the technology licensing process. Our goal is to increase industry's participation in the School of Medicine on all levels, across a full spectrum of biomedical research.
Spectrum includes 220 faculty members and their biomedical research, spanning 20 departments, clinical divisions, and interdepartmental programs at Stanford University.
Biotechnology, pharmaceutical and bio-device companies, industry consultants, and venture capital firms all can gain significant knowledge and establish productive partnerships through Spectrum.
