Instrumentation

500 MHz System:

This spectrometer is used exclusively for solution state protein and nucleic acid structure determinations. The spectrometer can perform all modern multidimensional NMR experiments.

Magnet: The Oxford magnet system is a fully persistent 11.74 Tesla superconducting magnet operating at 4.2 K. The cryostat has a 51 mm room temperature bore.

Console: The Varian Unity Inova console has four channels and triple-axis gradient capabilities

Probes:

  • 5 mm inverse triple HCN gradient probe
  • 5 mm inverse triple HCP gradient probe
  • 5 mm inverse dual H/X gradient probe

  • Access to other liquids probes may be available by special arrangement.
NOTE: This spectrometer is a dedicated instrument for the research group of Prof. Joseph Puglisi, however the SMRL is granted access on a limited basis.
