• Data Analysis Workshop Agenda
|
• Three Partek instructors will be attending the workshop next week: Mike Lelivelt, Tom Downey, and Jim Cloud. We have two fairly full days of training and analyses planned for you.
|
Day 1
• Starts at 9 AM with a discussion on experimental design from Tom Downey, President of Partek. He'll be taking you all through an overview of Partek Genomics Suite and then spend the afternoon working through use case examples on expression from using both 3' IVT and whole transcript/exon data sets. Day 1 will finish off with an open session devoted to the analysis of your own genomic data, so please be prepared and bring your data with you on a USB stick, portable hard drive, or optical disc.
• Data is best imported from the native Affymetrix files (CEL or CHP) rather than a text dump. Also please bring some detailed information about your experimental design including phenotypic differences between samples and anything unique about the sample preparation. I hope that anyone interested in expression can spend the full first day with us.

Day 2
• Some time will be spent reviewing some lessons that were learned from the end of Day 1 and then will proceed into a discussion of copy # analysis. Will work through several examples to learn the concepts of copy #, LOH, and allele specific copy number. SNP Association and Tiling analysis will also be covered. Day 2 will finish off with more hands on analysis time so that everyone has ample time to analyze their data.
** Partek will be sponsoring a lunch for all the workshop participants. |
