The PAN Biotechnology Facility provides DNA sequencing of single stranded or double stranded DNA samples from both purified plasmids and PCR products. We accept samples in two basic formats: ones that require that PAN perform the sequencing reaction, and ones in a "reaction completed" format. Our sequencing reactions are performed using the Amersham ET Terminator and ABI Big Dye sequencing chemistry. We are presently using ABI 3100 and ABI Prism 377 sequencers. The read-lengths for the data we collect are normally between 600 and 700 bases with a basecalling accuracy > 99%. However, this is typically dependent on the quantity and quality of the templates or reactions that are submitted.
