Printing from a Macintosh

The following are instructions to select a particular printer for use. You should already have a printer (or two) installed. Directions for installing printers available here.

Printing to Selected Network Printers

Warning: You should only configure and add printers using the Chooser (under the Apple menu). You should only use the Chooser to add or configure printers. The proper procedure for selecting an output device for printing a document is as follows:

Select "Print" from the File menu when you are ready to print a document:

Select the desired printer from the pop-up list right of the word "Printer:" at the top of the window above.

Select paper source (transparency, letter, A4, etc) from the pop-up menu to the left of the words "Paper Source".

To view additional options, click the options pop-up menu (titled "General" in Figure A above):




Selecting items from this menu will let you choose additional settings for document printing, such as double-sided printing, graphics printing quality, and others.

If you want the settings you've selected to apply to all documents sent to this printer, press the "Save Settings" button. Otherwise, click on the "Print" button to print your document.
