| Closing your CMGM email Account As students graduate, staff and faculty move on, and new email account possibilities become more valuable, users may find greater convenience in migrating from CMGM to email accounts at other universities, companies, and networks. There are several steps to making the transition as smooth as possible. |

| 1. | Forwarding CMGM email to other Accounts |

| Email sent to your @cmgm.stanford.edu address can automatically be forwarded to your new email account anywhere in the world. Follow the link above for directions. You will need to specify your new email address. | |||||
| 2. | Backing Up CMGM Data Files |
||||
| Before permanently closing your account, consider backing up your valuable web pages and document files using an FTP client like Fetch (Macintosh), WS-FTP (Windows), or through the CMGM-Users appleshare server. Once your account is closed, files within the account are lost forever. |
